Quantum redefines peristaltic pump performance for single-use downstream bioprocessing

  • Higher downstream process yields – throughout the pressure range
  • Accurate flow linearity independent of back-pressure
  • Simple to replace cartridge technology reduces time and cost for validation

Scott Process Engineers and WMFTG experts will be on hand in Booth #2833 to demonstrate the industry leading Quantum peristaltic pump with patented ReNu single-use (SU) cartridge technology.

Engineered by the world leader in peristaltic innovation, Quantum sets the standard for high-pressure feed pumps in SU tangential flow filtration (TFF), virus filtration (VF) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Quantum represents a step-change in pump technology for bioprocessing by enabling higher downstream process yields throughout the pressure range, delivering virtually pulse free linear flow, lowest shear, and easy validation aligned with Biophorum Operations Group (BPOG) guidelines.

Quantum outperforms other pumps by delivering higher accuracy with flow linearity independent of back-pressure, removing the need for flow meters and load cells’Another major benefit is ultra-low shear, half that of diaphragm pumps, a factor that increases product viability to help maximize process yeild’…with ‘Another major benefit is ultra-low shear, half that of diaphragm pumps. Good downstream pump selection avoids unnecessary aggregation and delivers much higher production yields.

An example of success, Quantum is being used at Goodwin Biotechnology Inc. (GBI), a US-based, GMP contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), to speed up completion of a purification platform for one of its customers. After finding their existing pump technology could not handle the high pressures on the ultrafiltration membranes for the large volumes required, they switched to Quantum and were able to concentrate 1500 liters of a product to 100 liters in about 7 hours.

Quantum’s ReNu single-use (SU) cartridge technology offers validation and extractable data in line with BPOG, Bio-Process Systems Alliance (BPSA), United States Pharmacopoeia (USP), and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) guidelines. For more information about the innovative Quantum peristaltic pump come and speak with the WMFTG experts in Booth #2833 at INTERPHEX 2019.
